❓ Which size is right for my dog ?

We offer 2 sizes to ensure safe, effective play for every breed:

🐕 Standard — 18" (45 cm) For everyday breeds: Border Collie, Australian Shepherd, Cocker Spaniel, Springer Spaniel...

🐕‍🦺 Large — 22" (55 cm) For large breeds: Cane Corso, German Shepherd, Rottweiler, Labrador, Golden Retriever, Husky...

Our golden rule: the ball must always be bigger than your dog's mouth. That's what makes play safe — impossible to bite, swallow, or destroy. If your dog is between sizes, always go up.

Got more than one dog? Choose the size that suits your largest one — it'll work for all of them.

Is the Driftpaw ball safe for my dog?

Yes, when used as intended. The outer cover is a durable fabric built for pushing, chasing and herding play, with an inflatable core inside. Always pick a size bigger than your dog's mouth (see the size guide above) and supervise play, especially the first few sessions — like any toy, it isn't meant to be chewed on directly.

Can I use it indoors, or is it only for the garden?

Both though we recommend starting outdoors for the first few sessions.

The ball is soft enough not to damage furniture or walls (it's fabric‑covered, not hard plastic), so it works well on hardwood, tile or carpet. Many of our customers use it in hallways or living rooms on rainy British days when a walk isn't possible.

That said, for the first play sessions, we suggest starting in the garden or a park. Your dog's initial excitement is often intense — they may push the ball with real drive — so an open space lets them properly release that first burst of instinct. After that, indoor play becomes calm, controlled and genuinely useful for those days when the weather doesn't cooperate.

Will the ball really survive my dog? He destroys everything.

We hear this every day and it's exactly why we built the Whisk ball the way we did.

The outer shell is made from ballistic ripstop fabric, the same military‑grade material used in body armour and heavy‑duty tactical gear. It's been stress‑tested on the strongest breeds we know: Rottweilers, Malinois, German Shepherds, Cane Corsos and American Bullies.

More importantly, the ball is designed to be bigger than your dog's mouth so they can't get their teeth around it. Without a bite point, there's nothing to destroy. Instead of chewing, they push, chase and herd it — exactly as their instinct intends.

You love them. But some days, you don't recognise yourself anymore.

You've walked them until your feet hurt. And still — they pace, they whine, they tear at the cushion you just replaced.

You look at the chewed sofa, the muddy pawprints, the shoes you loved. And a thought creeps in you'd never say out loud: "Maybe I'm not the right owner for this dog."

But they're not being bad. They're bored out of their mind. A walk tires the body — nothing you've tried has ever reached the part of them that never switches off.

The 20 minutes that gave us our home back.

You roll the Whisk ball into the garden. They circle it, chase it, herd it around the lawn like it's the job they were born to do. Because it is.

Then they come inside, lie down at your feet, and stay there — calm, still, content. No pacing. No whining. No destruction.

This isn't just a ball. It's the dog you always knew was in there — finally, quietly, home.

Real stories

The transformations you have to read to believe.

They weren't misbehaving. They were missing the one thing they were bred to do. Here's what happened when they finally got it.

Got questions ? We've got answers.

Will the ball really survive my dog? He destroys everything.

We hear this every day — and it's exactly why we built the Whisk ball the way we did.

More importantly, the ball is designed to be bigger than your dog's mouth — so they can't get their teeth around it. Without a bite point, there's nothing to destroy. Instead of chewing, they push, chase and herd it — exactly as their instinct intends.

Which size should I choose for my dog?

We offer three sizes, calculated to always exceed your dog's mouth width:

Size S — 25 cm for small breeds up to 12 kg (Jack Russell, Cocker Spaniel, French Bulldog, Cavalier King Charles).

Size M — 45 cm for medium breeds from 12 to 25 kg (Border Collie, Australian Shepherd, Beagle, Springer Spaniel).

Size L — 55 cm for large breeds over 25 kg (German Shepherd, Labrador, Rottweiler, Malinois, Cane Corso, American Bully).

Our golden rule: if your dog sits between two sizes, always choose the bigger one. And if you have several dogs of different sizes, pick the size for your largest — it'll work brilliantly for all of them.

Is it really safer than regular dog toys?

Yes — and this is where the Whisk ball genuinely stands apart.

Classic dog toys are made to be chewed, which means small pieces can break off and be swallowed, causing choking hazards, gut blockages or expensive vet visits. The Whisk ball works on the opposite principle: it's too big to bite, too tough to tear, and has no detachable parts.

Every material we use is non‑toxic, BPA‑free and phthalate‑free, fully compliant with EU pet safety standards. Even in the extremely rare case the outer shell is pierced, the thick inner PVC bladder holds firm and releases no harmful substances. It's the safest form of intense play we've been able to design.

My dog has zero interest in toys. Will this actually work ?

This is one of the most common worries — and one of the most rewarding to answer.

Most dogs ignore toys because they're understimulating. A squeaky ball or a chew stick doesn't tap into anything meaningful for a working breed. The Whisk ball is different: it's designed to awaken your dog's natural herding instinct — the same drive that's kept sheep dogs and shepherds working for centuries.

The first time you roll it, most dogs will pause. Then circle it. Then start pushing it with their nose or chest. It's not a toy you throw — it's a puzzle their brain wants to solve. In our experience, over 95% of dogs engage within the first 10 minutes. And once they start, they rarely stop.

How long will it actually last?

With normal daily play, the Whisk ball is built to last years, not months.

The ballistic outer shell is designed to withstand daily intensive use from the strongest breeds. The inner bladder is a thick PVC chamber that maintains pressure over time and can be re‑inflated whenever needed. Every kit also comes with 2 spare valves to keep your ball going strong for the long term.

Should your ball ever need replacement parts, our website stocks spare shells, bladders and valves individually — so you never need to buy a new complete kit. It's built like premium outdoor gear, not disposable pet products.

Can I use it indoors, or is it only for the garden ?

Both — though we recommend starting outdoors for the first few sessions.
